Let's Have a Conversation
Your story, your pain and your collection of struggles are unique to you. There is no one size fits all approach to therapy. We'll spend time understanding exactly what you are experiencing so that when you start making changes that improve your life, they will stick. My approach is interactive, warm and accepting. My job is to give my clients the quickest relief possible, tasks to focus on between sessions and tools to learn coping skills.
Many of our toughest problems come from holding onto certain ideas, beliefs and rules we learned from people we may not remember, like or even respect. If you are ready to look at your own thought patterns and challenge them, I may be the right therapist for you. Together, we can identify the conscious and unconscious beliefs that hold you back and keep you from meeting your goals.
Grief is a natural part of life and can be the result of varying life changes such as death, divorce, abuse, career changes, and relocation. Because many were never taught specifically how to cope with loss, those impacted find themselves ill-equipped on the path toward recovery. Unresolved grief can result in depression, loss of interest, concentration deficits, drug abuse, and sleep problems. Time itself does not heal wounds caused by loss. Rather, dealing with grief means identifying, experiencing, and sharing our feelings. In some cases, close friends can aid in recovery, but in other cases, a grief counselor is necessary. Through empathetic therapy sessions, I provide the coping strategies and social skill training necessary for a hopeful journey towards recovery.
